the Dressage Test.

Withdrawals
Withdrawls MUST BE MADE BEFORE 12.00 Noon on Friday April 25th.
A full refund will be made for withdrawal by that date. No refunds
will be given for withdrawal after March 31st 2004.

Stabling Details
Unless there is sufficient demand (12 boxes), on site stables will
not be available. Stabling may be available locally please contact
Fiona McOuat on her mobile 07730111334 if a problem.
Due to Safety Regulations competitors will not be allowed to erect
electric or other fencing for grazing/stabling of animals, nor will
tents be allowed in the Stable Area, a separate site will be designated,
see Stable Manager on arrival.
The Brighton Council Byelaws indicate that parking may only take
place in approved areas, and that all motor vehicles - INCLUDING
MOTOR CYCLES, MOTORISED BICYCLES AND ATV’s - require road tax. Any
taxed ATV’s and Motorcycles used must keep to the tarmac road unless
in possession of a Disabled Pass issued by the BHDTA. Note - Hard
hats must be worn by all those on Motorcycles /ATV’s
Full catering facilities will be available from Thursday evening
until Sunday evening. A reception will be held for competitors in
the Catering Marquee on the evening of Friday May 2nd.
Competitors will be sent one lorry pass and one car and/or caravan
pass. All extra caravan passes will be charged for at the general
public rate of £35 for the weekend, application together with cheque
should be sent to the secretary before the event.
General Information
The Marathon course runs through wooded and grassland areas of the
Sussex Downs. There are no water crossings. The seven artificial
obstacles are constructed on fairly flat ground all within easy
walking distance of the main complex and stable area. Exercising
is within the confines of the Park.
Location
Stanmer Park is on the A27 Lewes Road approximately 2 miles north-east
of Brighton, next door to Sussex University. Post Code BN1 9SE.
When approaching from the M25/London road travelling towards Lewes,
Eastbourne and Hastings, the signs for the Universities should be
followed. Should this be missed, it is possible to take the slip
road at Sussex University and return down the A27 exiting at Southern
Water before turning into the Park. From Eastbourne/Lewes direction
follow along A27, the exit is by Southern Water just after the overpass
at Sussex University.
There is a local bus and train service (Stanmer/University station
is just across the main A27 next to Southern Water) to Brighton,
Lewes and Eastbourne.
Alternative Interests
Stylish, cosmopolitan and eccentric, Brighton has had a reputation
for glamour since the eighteenth century when the Prince Regent
(later George lV) first visited and decided to stay. Take a walk
along the beachfront, where bars, cafes and restaurants and the
Artist’s Quarter provide the perfect place to browse and relax.
Take in the Regency architecture that’s on a par with the best in
the country, visit the exotic Pavilion, and enjoy the famous nightlife
and the enormous range of visual and performing arts including Brighton
International Arts Festival, the largest in England. Discover the
historic heart of the city in the world famous Lanes and shop till
you drop in the bohemian North Laine.
